Daymare 1994: Sandcastle Announced for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC

Daymare: 1998 started out as a fan remake of Resident Evil 2 that tried to recreate the suspense of the classic 90s horror game. Despite mixed critic reviews, the game did succeed on that front and has gotten enough fan support to have a Mostly Positive rating on Steam with over 1.6k user reviews. Now, Leonardo Interactive and Invader Studios have announced a prequel to the 2019 game titled Daymare 1994: Sandcastle. In this upcoming third-person survival horror game you will play as Delila Reye, a former government spy, now working for H.A.D.E.S. (Hexacore Advanced Division for Extraction and Search).

Similar to its predecessor, Daymare 1994 will take you back to the 90s both with the gameplay and setting as Delila goes to Idaho prior to the events that transpire in 1998 to fight against new creatures, solve puzzles, and try to survive in “the most advanced experimental research center in the United States of America.”

This prequel will center around new characters, but it will also construct the past of characters you’ll recognize from the first game as you complete the top-secret “Sandcastle” mission. Daymare 1994: Sandcastle will boast a plethora of new features such as liquid nitrogen weapons, an updated game interface for managing your inventory, a new scanner on Reyes’ arm that can be used to scan the environment detect hidden items, and puzzles.

Daymare 1994: Sandcastle will be coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2022.
