ORIGINAL POST 10/8/21: Ah shit, here we go again! The rumored and leaked Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is finally official. Rockstar Games is celebrating the upcoming 20th Anniversary of the original release of Grand Theft Auto III, the game that cemented the GTA series as a cultural phenomenon and paved the way for future entries to be such blockbuster hits, by releasing a collection of Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Being the definitive edition, all three games will have graphical improvements and modern gameplay enhancements, though Rockstar promises to maintain the classic look and feel of the originals. We haven’t gotten any gameplay of the remastered games just yet, though more information is said to come in the coming weeks. In preparation for the launch of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy, Rockstar will be removing existing versions of the three games from digital storefronts next week.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will release on the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Rockstar Games Launcher later this year. The trilogy will also release on iOS and Android in the first half of 2022. In the meantime, Rockstar will be releasing special gear in Grand Theft Auto Online for the anniversary that will be dropping throughout in-game events this Fall.
