Ambition: A Minuet in Power Delayed Until August
UPDATE 5/21/21: Ambition: A Minuet in Power has been delayed. The developers, Joy Manufacturing Co, say that while on their daily cleaning routine, they found a few bugs in the game that require ironing out. These bugs are not actually severe enough to take three months to fix, but June and July are packed with AAA releases, and Ambition, being a small indie title, would get buried in that time. They are optimistic that delaying the game will result in a better game and that it will push the PC and Nintendo Switch releases closer together. Though no exact date was given, the current release window is sometime in August.
ORIGINAL POST 5/17/21: Ambition: A Minuet in Power is a romantic visual novel from developer Joy Manufacturing Co that has you playing as Yvette, a woman of fashion in 18th century Paris whose fiance, Armand, disappears. Now Yvette can attend lavish parties, meet a cast of colorful characters, and engage in juicy gossip. She can either get rich and change history, or lose all respect and face the guillotine. The choice is in your hands.
Being an Otome game, Ambition is a story-driven visual novel where the goal is to meet different romantic interests and, hopefully, find true love. But there’s more at work than just love. As you mingle with the rich and powerful, you can learn their secrets and use them for your own personal gain or their demise. The game features mechanics such as an in-game calendar that lets you plan activities for your time in Paris. Set during a tumultuous time in the city’s history, Ambition lets you use your influence to alter history.
