Rust: Console Edition is Available Now on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

Since it went into Early Access on Steam in 2013, Rust has become an incredibly popular survival game. Developed and published by the Middlesbrough-based studio, Double Eleven, the once PC exclusive title from Facepunch Studios is now available on consoles. Though it’s based on the PC version, Rust: Console Edition has been designed and optimized with the new platforms in mind and with the possibility of crossplay between PlayStation and Xbox.

For those unfamiliar with Rust, its core principle is pretty simple: do not die. So when you wake up on a mysterious island, with only a pebble and torch in hand, it’s up to you to explore the map, find resources, and survive. However, that’s not as easy as it sounds because players will have to manage hunger and thirst while fighting off hostile players, animals, and more. Oh, and don’t forget clothes, you have to craft your own clothing too unless you want to walk around exposed to the elements.

Join the millions of players who already survived the brutal world of Rust with your controller in hand. Rust: Console Edition is out now on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Click here to watch the official launch trailer for the game.
