Gamescom kicked things off with a new Saints Row. Saints Row will be set in the fictional Santa Ileso based on the American Southwest. Lots of new characters and gangs, all will be extremely different from one another. Much like previous Saints Row games, players will be defeating these gangs as they work towards accomplishing their goals. For those of you reading this before September 2, you can get Saints Row: The Third Remastered for free on the Epic Games Store.

From Furaxus Games, Marvel’s Midnight Sun is a brand new tactical RPG that has you fighting against Lilith, the mother of demons. The game also brings to life, literally, a Hunter, a new superhero that was designed in partnership with Marvel to be the protagonist of this game while also offering character customization. Sign up for the newsletter for Marvel’s Midnight Suns to get an exclusive Blade Nightstalker Skin when the game launches.

Vanguard is a totally new take on WWII for the Call of Duty franchise. Instead of focusing on the big conflicts, much like Sledgehammer’s own WWII, this game will have you jump between 4 different characters based on true stories. One of those characters is Polina Petrova, who will be voice by the winner of last year’s Game Award for Best Performance, Laura Bailey. Laura, who will be making her Call of Duty debut in Vanguard, joined David Swenson, Campaign Creative Director, on stage to talk a bit about the Vanguard‘s story. The game will focus on smaller individuals and their stories as it takes you through battles. The extended gameplay preview of the game showed off the series’ staple set pieces with a unique mix of climbing mechanics.

We have a release date for one of the most highly anticipated games coming to Xbox systems this year. The Halo Infinite campaign (not including co-op) and multiplayer will launch on December 8. The very same day, the game will be on Game Pass. Along with the news, we also saw a CGI cutscene that will kick off Season 1 of Halo Infinite‘s free-to-play multiplayer. We got a look at a special edition Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 with the iconic Master Chief color scheme. And to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Halo on Xbox, Microsoft revealed the very first Limited Edition Xbox Series X console. The system will cost $549.99 and will come with the Halo Infinite.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge announces a new character, April. She will walk around and beat up bad guys right alongside your favorite mutated turtles. There will also now be a way to revive the turtles with some strategic use of pizza.

Splitgate, the highly popular first-person shooter that combines arena shooter combat with portals, has had more than 10 million downloads across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. Today the game is about to enter Season 0. This new season adds a new map, new Infection mode, and more to the game.

Riders Republic from Ubisoft is very close to release, but in the meantime, players can play the open beta for free from now until August 28. Amazon Studios’ New World is a strategy MMO that will be releasing next month. In order to give players a taste of the game, there will be an open beta from September 9 through 12. Watching 15 minutes of the gamescom Opening Night Live on Twitch will unlock a free in-game item.

One of the biggest reveals for the event was the release date for Horizon: Forbidden West. Well, along with that exciting news, Guerrilla has also released an enhancement patch for the first game on PlayStation 5. So you can now enjoy 60fps gameplay as you play, or replay, Horizon: Zero Dawn in anticipation of the new game.

For Season 5 of Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout, the developers are teaming up with Disney. From September 3 to 12, take part in the King Louie in-game event. Mowgli, Baloo, and Shere Khan skins for your characters will also be available.

Genshin Impact announced that Aloy from Horizon will be joining on September 1. To celebrate the one-year anniversary of the game’s release there will be a special event called the Genshin Concert 2021: Melodies of an Endless Journey on October 3 where the Flanders Symphony Orchestra plays the game’s score.

To wrap up gamescom ONL we got an extended look at the Death Stranding: Director’s Cut. It will feature various updates, like an improved Buddy Bot, new facilities, new missions, and so much more. Pre-orders are available now.
