Halo Infinite Multiplayer is Available Now on Xbox and PC

Xbox is celebrating its 20 year anniversary with a special live event featuring lots of exciting new announcements. As of today, 76 new backwards compatible games are being added to Xbox Game Pass including the Max Payne series, the F.E.A.R. trilogy, TimeSplitters 2, and more. Furthermore, 37 games are getting an FPS boost for the Xbox Series X|S. But no Xbox celebration is complete without Halo, which shares the same double-decade milestone as the console it was first released on. Along with a short glimpse at the Paramount+ exclusive Halo series, we have the big news that Halo Infinite's free-to-play multiplayer is out today.

Now that the game is installing on your PC or Xbox console of choice, there's a bit more you should know about Halo Infinite's multiplayer. For starters, this is only the beta for the game. According to leaks prior to this announcement, it seems that the multiplayer was originally meant to release today, but in the last second was nearly delayed. In an effort to still release the mode on a special day, it's still being called the beta. Seeing as this is a free-to-play title, it's safe to assume that more players than ever before will be jumping into the Halo universe, and the 343 team asks you to be patient with any day one issues that may crop up.

Halo Infinite Multiplayer Battle Pass Details

However, despite being a beta, the game's multiplayer includes all the maps, modes, and weapons that will be in the final game. The Battle Pass is also available so you can climb the tiers and get unlocks as you play. Unlike the game's previous technical previews, all the progress you make in the multiplayer beta will carry over to the release of the final game on December 8 alongside the long-awaited Halo Infinite campaign. Season One of the Battle Pass, titled Heroes of Reach, has over 100 cosmetic items to unlock and will end in May of 2022. There will be a free version of the Battle Pass, that will unlock with less exciting rewards, so you will need to purchase the Battle Pass to unlock all that Heroes of Reach has to offer. This was a pleasant surprise to make everybody's Monday's a little better. Will you be jumping into Halo multiplayer? Let us know down in the comments.
