Celtic RPG The Waylanders is Out Now on PC
Step into two different eras in The Waylanders, a real-time-with-pause party-based RPG rooted in Celtic myth and historical legend. The first era is the time of Celtic myth and gods, the second is mankind’s domination over magic in medieval times. Across these two lifetimes you’ll travel, battle, and fall in love with a variety of companions.
The game builds on the classic real-time-with-pause RPGs by including new Formation abilities that gives players special powers based on how the party is made up. Different formations will do extra damage and there are many magical transformations that can be unlocked to help you navigate through the world.
The Waylanders features the voice acting talents of Amber Rose Revah (The Punisher, Son of God), Simon Templeman (Dragon Age series, Mass Effect series, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain), Ralph Ineson (The Green Knight, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance), Ash Sroka (Mass Effect series, Ar-k series, Blood+) and many others. Their performances mixed with the story make The Waylanders a game you won’t soon forget.
Fernando Prieto, co-founder of Gato Salvaje, had the following to say about the game,
The Waylanders is a project we’ve been working on for the last five years and I am so incredibly proud of what the team has created. This is a story born of our Galician roots and many of the tales of our heritage have inspired elements throughout. With The Waylanders now launched, we’re working on the game’s first update and as we add new content and improvements, we’ll be working with the community to ensure their feedback is heard.
The game is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Russian, and the Gato team’s native Galician. The Waylanders is available now on Steam and GOG and it is currently on sale until February 9. Shortly after the launch, Gato Studio will also be releasing The Waylanders Official Soundtrack as a $7.99 DLC for the game. This soundtrack features 26 tracks with a total of 48 minutes of original compositions from The Waylanders by legendary composer Inon Zur. Watch the games full launch trailer here.
