The Ascent garnered a lot of positive press when it was released as an Xbox exclusive last year. Neon Giant, the new indie developer behind the cyberpunk RPG, and publisher Curve Digital have announced that the game will soon be coming to PlayStation. For those unfamiliar with the game, The Ascent is a beautiful-looking sci-fi action shooter powered by Unreal Engine. The game can be played solo or in co-op with up to four players. Arcade Berg, Co-founder and Creative Director of the studio, had the following to say about the upcoming PlayStation release:

We’ve been blown away by how amazing the response to The Ascent has been so far on Xbox and PC, so we are thrilled to be bringing the game to a new audience of PlayStation players. We started making The Ascent because we love making games and we want to share what we’ve made with as many gamers as possible in the hope that people enjoy playing it as much as we enjoyed making it.

Today also marks the release of The Ascent‘s Cyber Warrior DLC pack on PC, which includes 2 new weapons, 1 new tactical, 7 pieces of armor, and 3 new weapon skins. PC players who have already completed mission 12 of the base game can now return to the story thanks to New Game + mode. New Game + allows players to battle tougher enemies with extra abilities and enemy projectiles that are much faster and harder to dodge. Levels are increased to 30 and up and weapons can be upgraded past Mk.10.

The Ascent is coming to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on March 24. If you pre-order the game on PlayStation, you will receive an exclusive RPEG 33 energy-type Rocket Launcher with a unique laser sight in the console’s signature blue color. The Ascent is currently available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, and PC via Steam and Windows Store. The game is also available on Xbox Game Pass.
