Escape a Televised Utopia in American Arcadia from the Developers of Call of the Sea

Out of the Blue Games, the developers of the critically acclaimed Call of the Sea, are teaming up with publisher Raw Fury once more to reveal American Arcadia. Just like their last game, American Arcadia is also a single-player story-focused experience, this time blending the mechanics of a 2.5D platformer and first-person puzzler.

Take on the role of two characters as they step into the Arcadia, a 70s-style, retro-futuristic metropolis where everything is seemingly perfect. What the citizens of Arcadia don’t know is that they are a part of a television show called American Arcadia, which has been continually broadcasting for decades. Life seems good inside Arcadia, as long as you stay on the all-seeing viewer’s good side.

The narrative of American Arcadia is presented as a documentary, which features character interviews and interrogations. The game features an excellent voice cast including Yuri Lowenthal (Spider-Man, Prince of Persia), Krizia Bajos (Cyberpunk 2077, League of Legends), and Cissy Jones (Firewatch, Life is Strange). Fans of Call of the Sea will recognize Yuri Lowenthal and Cissy Jones as returning voices.

American Arcadia is currently in development for consoles and PC. There is no release date as of yet, but you can wishlist the game on Steam. The full game trailer will be shown at Summer Game Fest next month. American Arcadia will also participate in this year’s TRIBECA Games Festival.
