Developer Silver Lining Studio and publisher PLAYISM shared a snapshot of The Star Named EOS at the Wholesome Direct showcase this past weekend. The upcoming puzzle game is a follow-up to the developer’s hit indie game, Behind the Frame, and centers around the love of photography.

The Star Named EOS tells the story of Dei, who sets out on a journey to learn the truth about his family and confront the echoes of the past. Dei is led by his mother’s voice deep within him and the photographs she sent home during her travels.

The game features several notable vocal performances. The Japanese voice acting was done by Aoi Yūki, known for her work in Persona 5 and Genshin Impact, and the English voice acting was provided by Suzie Yeung, who also played Yuffie Kisaragi in Final Fantasy VII Remake and FFVII Rebirth.

Set to the game’s original theme song Sunset to Sunrise, performed by aDAN and composed and arranged by Bo-Xun Lin, the latest trailer showed off the hand-drawn, first-person narrative and gave eager photographers a release date. The Star Named EOS arrives on July 23 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC. You can wishlist the game on Steam now and play the demo while you’re at it.
