Redout 2 Gameplay Trailer Reveals New Maps, Modes, and Music

Get ready to race at lightspeed in the upcoming space racer from developer 34BigThings and publisher Saber Interactive. In a new gameplay overview trailer, the developers have shown off all the exciting details about Redout 2. Jump into the cockpit of a hovership and hit the tracks (not literally of course because it’s anti-gravity) in solo races or online in multiplayer races with up to 12 players on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC and up to 6 players on the Nintendo Switch.

Redout 2 is bigger than the first, featuring a career mode spanning across 36 unique race tracks. All of which can be played in reverse as well. There are also six game modes including Last Man Standing, Time Attack, Arena Race, and more. Pick from 12 different chassis and build out your hovership with an extensive selection of propulsors, stabilizers, rudders, intercoolers, flaps, magnets, wings, spoilers, rocket engines, and paints.

The game also has a booming soundtrack with tracks from notable names in electronic music like Giorgio Moroder, Zardonic, and Dance with the Dead. Redout 2 also has a new sound system that dynamically mixes the songs together based on player race data. And, for any video game photographers out there, you can capture all the high-speed action in the game’s photo mode.

Redout 2 is expected to release later this year for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.  Last year, we reviewed the on-rail shooter spin-off called Redout: Space Assault and we said that although the game was a decent on-rail space shooter for players who miss the genre, the average player might find it a forgettable experience held back by bugs. It will be interesting to see 34BigThings return to the racing that is at the heart of the Redout franchise.
