Take control of Neil Conrad, a grizzly, trenchcoat-wearing agent from the Central Department of Investigation as he follows a mystery that could have dire consequences. Lacuna is a science fiction noir detective story with a branching dialogue tree that leads to dynamic conversations and, ultimately, multiple unique endings. What starts out as a single high-profile murder case leads to a series of deaths. It’s your job as the detective to ask as many questions as you can, search areas for clues, and get to the bottom of a system-wide conspiracy.

Since 2019, Lacuna has received several accolades including Best Prototype and Special Jury Award at Game Award Saar 2019 and Best Game 2nd Place at Indie Game Fest 2019. This will be the debut game for the Germany-based studio DigiTales Interactive. The developers strongly believe in their dialogue system and how it will impact the ever-evolving story. With multiple endings and optional interactive elements, they believe each player’s experience will be different.

Jasmin Pfeiffer and Julian Colbus, Co-Founders of DigiTales Interactive, say, “Lacuna is our debut title, and we can’t believe it’s really finished! It’s a work of passion that has accompanied us since our university days, and we are so happy we can finally share it with the world and see the decisions players will make. We believe that games are the best medium to tell an immersive and poignant story, and we hope that you will get exactly that from our game.”

Lacuna is out now on PC via Steam. The base game is $15.99 but is on sale until May 27 for the price of $13.59 and the Save the World Edition, which comes with the soundtrack, is normally $25.99 but is also on sale for $22.09 for the first week. Along with supporting the developers, when you buy the Save the World Edition, 10% of the revenue goes to Go Give One. There is also a free demo available on Steam that lets you play the hour-long Prologue.
