Everything You Need to Know About the New Tales From The Borderlands

HELLLOOOO VAULT HUNTERS! We have finally been given more details on New Tales From The Borderlands on the opening night of Gamescon 2022. This game was originally teased on the first day of PAX East back in April when Gearbox stated that they were going to be releasing more Borderlands games that will continue to build the universe and add more characters similar to what they did with the original Tales From The Borderlands.

All Borderlands games to this point have started on Pandora, but this game takes place on a separate planet that players were able to explore in Borderlands 3 called Promethea. Promethea is the headquarters of one of the weapon manufacturers, Atlas. Atlas set up headquarters on Promethea after Typhon DeLeon, the first vault hunter, found a vault that contained Eridian technology, which Atlas used to manufacture their weapons. Rhys Strongfork, one of the playable characters from the first Tales From The Borderlands, is currently the CEO of Atlas, which is currently destroyed following the Maliwan invasion that occurred in Borderlands 3. This game takes place after the events of Borderlands 3, and will progress the story of what happens on Promethea after the invasion.

In this game, you play as three different characters; Anu the altruistic scientist, Octavio the “streetwise” brother of Anu, and Fran the fierce frogurt-slinger. According to the game’s description, you take control of these characters on the worst day of their lives as they face down a planetary invasion, a vicious vault monster, and a cold-hearted capitalist.

The game, similar to the original Tales From The Borderlands, will be broken up into five parts and every decision you make will impact how the story ends up. This means that this game will have instant replayability as there will be multiple endings and outcomes and dialogue options that will change the game drastically between each playthrough.

New Tales From The Borderlands will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch and will release on October 21, 2022. Two editions will be available, the Standard Edition ($39.99) and Deluxe edition ($49.99) with the ladder of the two including in-game goodies.
