As many probably already know, Space Jam: A New Legacy, the sequel to the iconic 1996 film starring Michael B Jordan alongside the looney cast of tunes, will be coming to theaters and HBO Max on July 16. This sequel will star the legendary LeBron James as he works with the tunes as they try to escape from a digital space. To celebrate the upcoming release of the film, Xbox has announced more information about their exclusive game as well as three exclusive controllers. Let’s start with the game.

Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game was created by blending the ideas of the youth and adult competition winners from Xbox’s competition where fans could submit their ideas for a video game inspired by the film. From the winners, they combined the idea of a classic “beat ’em up” with some creative game mechanics. The story of the game is heavily inspired by the film. Players will be able to play as their favorite characters from the Tune Squad, Bugs Bunny, Lola Bunny, and, of course, LeBron James, as they try to defeat the Goon Squad and escape from the Warner Bros. server that the evil AI G. Rhythm has trapped the heroes in. The game’s developers, Digital Eclipse, have used their passion for arcade-style games to bring that classic feel to life through the art, design, and feel of the game.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members will get limited-time early access to Space Jame: A New Legacy – The Game starting on July 1 through the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Perks. The game will become available free-to-play for all fans on July 15, a day before the film itself comes out, through the Microsoft Store. Three Exclusive Series X|S Controllers for Space Jam: A New Legacy

Alongside more information on the game, Xbox announced three exclusive Series X|S controllers that will be available on July 8 while supplies last. The first controller is for the Tune Squad and features the iconic logo and orange and blue colors. The second is for the Goon Squad and shows off their evilness with the purple and black design. The third and final design is called “Serververse” and is inspired by Warner 3000 entertainment with its cool circuit board style. The controllers will cost $69.99. Will you be picking one of them up, or are you wanting to design your own with Xbox’s recently re-opened Design Lab? Let us know in the comments below.
