UPDATE 03/07/2022: The Forspoken team has given an update on social media regarding the game today. In a short letter to players, they have announced that the game has been delayed in order to give them more time to get the game to the level of polish they want. Previously slated to come out in May, Forspoken has been delayed to October 11. The full message from the team is below:

We have made the decision to move the release date of Forspoken to October 11, 2022. Our vision for this exciting new IP is to deliver a game world and hero that gamers across the globe will want to experience for years to come, so getting it right is extremely important to us. To that end, during the next few months we will focus all of our efforts on polishing the game and can’t wait for you to experience Frey’s journey this fall. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to sharing more about Forspoken with you soon.

ORIGINAL 12/10/2021: Over the past year, we have gotten a few glimpses at Forspoken, the upcoming game from Square Enix and Luminos Productions. For anyone that may have missed them, Forspoken is a PlayStation console exclusive action-adventure game about Frey Holland, a New York City resident that finds herself trapped in the expansive and dangerous land of Athia. With the help of her magical, sentient bracelet, Cuff, she must fight hard to find her way home. Last night at The Game Awards, Ella Balinska, who will be voicing Frey, took to the stage alongside Pollyanna McIntosh, who will be voicing the maddened evil sorceress Tanta Prav, to show off a new trailer that confirms a date in the game’s initial Spring 2022 release window.

Forspoken will be releasing on the PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, Epic Game Store, and Microsoft Store on May 24 of 2022. You can pre-order the game now and there are three different versions of the game to consider. The game will, of course, be available physically and digitally, but what pre-order bonuses you get will be different based on the platform of purchase. PlayStation players will get the No Limits Cloak, Symbol Combo Necklace, Trigger Happy Nails, and Crafting Starter Kit while PC players get the Elite Cloak, Spectra Combo Necklace, and Overclock Nails. There is also the Digital Deluxe Edition as well which comes with Forspoken: In Tanta We Trust prequel story DLC, which will be released in Winter 2022, mini-artbook, mini-soundtrack, and Rare Resource Kit, which will only be available with the PlayStation 5 version.
