Everything You Need to Know About March State of Play

Everything You Need to Know About March State of Play

Earlier this week, PlayStation announced a new State of Play focused on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 games, mainly from their Japanese studios and partners. There has been a lot of excitement building up to this one as rumors of a revival of a beloved PlayStation classic. Although names like inFamous and Twisted Metal have been thrown around, nothing had been confirmed. Well, spoiler warning, we still don't know even after this event either. With that said, here is everything you need to know about the March 2022 State of Play:

  • Exoprimal | New co-op focused game from Capcom featuring 5 player PvE dino fighting combat. Coming to PS4 and PS5 in 2023.
  • GhostWire: Tokyo | New look at the upcoming PlayStation exclusive that will be releasing later this month.
  • Stranger of Paradise: A Final Fantasy Origin | New demo available now on the PlayStation Store.
  • Forspoken | New gameplay trailer comes after Monday's announcement of the game's delay to October.
  • Gundam Evolution | Fast-paced 6v6 first-person shooter that's coming to PlayStation later this year.
  • TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection | Featuring games like TMNT The Arcade Game, Turtles in Time, and Tournament Fighters, the collection is coming in 2022.
  • GigaBash | Coming 2022.
  • JoJo's Bizzare Adventure: All-Star Battle R | Fall 2022
  • Trek to Yomi | New trailer shows off the game's cast. Coming out in Spring 2022.
  • Returnal: Ascension | Critically acclaimed PlayStation exclusive is getting co-op and a new mode in new DLC releasing March 22.
  • The DioField Chronicle | New tactics game from Square Enix that's coming out later this year.
  • Valkyrie Elysium | New JRPG from Square Enix that is coming in 2022.

Those are all the announcements made in the roughly 20-minute event. Other than disappointment from people in chat who didn't know that this was focused on Japanese developers, there were no real surprises here. The biggest surprise was the return of Valkyrie Profile, but mostly the showcase was updates on titles people had been looking forward to. Nonetheless, what did you think about the new State of Play?
