Part of the charm of Portkey Games’ game set in the Harry Potter universe is its massive open world with plenty to do in it including its various puzzles. One of the common puzzles a player may come across is one that involves some math… I know, it’s the worst, but have no fear because below is exactly how to solve these puzzles!

Each door is the same, it has a basic door with two math equations on it with either a “?” or a “??” indicating the blanks that the player needs to fill in. Around the door is 10 different creatures that are used to fill in the previously mentioned blanks as the player uses dials that are labeled with the corresponding symbols (“?” or “??”) to find the correct creature to finish the equations.

The number of each creature ranges from zero to nine, which the creature on the bottom left being zero and the creature on the bottom right being nine. See below for an example, and the answer to the door found right outside of the Charms Class.

The above door needs “?” to be a 2 as 5-3=2, meaning that to solve the top portion, the player will need to move the dial that is marked “?” to the Graphorn. For the second portion we need the Unicorn and “??” to add to 8 as 12-4(the given number)=8. The Unicorn value is 1, which means that to solve the second portion of this puzzle the player needs to spin the dial that is labeled as “??” to the Squid. Once both dials read the proper creatures, go to the door, and click to unlock.
