While everyone is waiting for the next-gen update for The Witcher 3 or the new Witcher saga that CD Projekt Red announced earlier this year, the Polish developer is stealth releasing a new single-player roguelike deckbuilder that no one saw coming. Set in The Witcher universe, Gwent: Rogue Mage is built off the card-focused gameplay of Gwent, but this time it adds a single-player campaign. Gwent: Rogue Mage was announced yesterday via an exclusive preview from IGN, where they revealed further details about the game.

Previously known as Project Golden Nekker, Rogue Mage rewinds the clock by a few hundred years, putting you in control of an ambitious mage, Alzur, and his companion, Lily, that set out to create the very first Witcher to solve the monster problem the Continent faced after the Conjunction of Spheres. Battle your way with an arsenal of hundreds of cards as you reach legendary monsters to harvest their precious mutagens.

Gwent: Rogue Mage is available today on iOS, Android, and PC via Steam and GOG. The game is also available on Mac, but only on ones equipped with the M1 chip and above. While this is advertised as a Gwent expansion, it is a standalone title that will cost $9.99 for the standard edition and $19.99 for the Deluxe edition which comes bundled with the official Rogue Mage soundtrack, three alternative looks for Alzur, and card packs for Gwent.
