PlayStation Studios Has Acquired Bluepoint Games

After many years of collaborating, PlayStation Studios has confirmed today that they have acquired Bluepoint Games. Known for their exceptional remasters, Bluepoint has recaptured the magic of games like Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Shadow of the Colossus, and, most recently, Demon’s Souls on the PlayStation 5. The latter of which has sold over 1 million copies despite being the studio’s most recent release.

However, as a part of the PlayStation family, Marco Thrush, President of Bluepoint Games, said in an interview with IGN that Bluepoint’s focus is to make original titles. In the official PlayStation Blog post, Marco Thrush had the following to say:

While the studio has certainly grown over the past 15 years, our cultural beliefs have remained the same – to always push the envelope and create the highest-quality games possible all while having fun doing it.  The focus on culture has been instrumental to our success and we’re excited that PlayStation Studios shares a similar culture and vision.

The Bluepoint Games news comes closely after the acquisition of Firespire Games, which has actually announced that they have acquired Fabrik Games just yesterday.
