The game players have been describing as “Firewatch in space,” The Invincible is a retro-futuristic hard sci-fi adventure game from developer Starward Industries and publisher 11 bit studios. The single-player narrative-focused game takes inspiration from 1950s illustrations of a possible future. Explore the story of Yasna, an astrobiologist trapped on the unwelcoming planet, Regis III, and face a scientific phenomenon that will bend her understanding of the purpose and flow of evolution.

The game is based on the 1964 novel of the same name by Polish author Stanisław Lem. Known primarily for sci-fi, Stanisław Lem’s works were also steeped in philosophy and, futurology. The Invincible is out now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. We did receive a code for the game and our review will be out sometime next week.
