Kena: Bridge of Spirits received a lot of critical acclaim when it was released last year as a PlayStation console exclusive. The game will soon be getting its biggest piece of DLC since its release in a new Anniversary update that is not only free on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Epic Games Store but will also bring the game to Steam for the first time as part of the expanded version of the game coming next month.

The Anniversary update includes:

  • New Game+, which will allow players who’ve completed the game to restart Kena’s journey with all of their previously unlocked abilities, upgrades, outfits, Rot, etc and take on redesigned and more challenging combat encounters.
  • Charmstones that are Individually equipable – these unique collectibles each provide different adjustments to Kena’s stats and abilities.
  • New game mode called the Spirit Guide Trials, challenging players’ skills with a variety of replayable challenges across three different categories; Obstacle Courses, Wave Defenses, and Boss Reflects.
  • Completing the Spirit Guide Trials unlock outfits for Kena, each one inspired by one of the characters she meets along her journey. Succeeding at bonus objectives within each trial can unlock color variations of each outfit, as well as some unique Charmstones.
  • An exclusive new outfit for Deluxe Edition owners.

The update will release on September 27 for all platforms. The base game costs $39.99 and the Digital Deluxe edition goes for $49.99. For those who are unfamiliar, Kena: Bridge of Spirits is the debut game from indie game development and animation studio Ember Lab. It’s an action-adventure game centered around a Spirit Guide named Kena as she restores balance to an ancient village.
