Breath of the Wild Sequel Gets Title and Release Date in September Nintendo Direct

Leaves are beginning to fall, the air is becoming cooler, and it’s time for another Nintendo Direct. There have been a few different rumors jumping around about what will be announced during today’s event, with many more stirring up after PlayStation announced a State of Play for later this same day. So let’s clear up those questions and take a look at what was announced during today’s forty-minute Nintendo Direct.

Alongside all the new games, it was also announced that more N64 games will be added to Nintendo Switch Online like Pilotwings 64, Mario Party 1, 2 & 3, Pokémon Stadium 1 & 2, 1080 Snowboard, and Excitebike 64. And get ready to ruin some friendships because GoldenEye will be returning soon with online play.

Horror fans may be pleased to learn that Resident Evil Village will be available on Cloud on October 28 with the winter’s expansion available on December 2. Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2, & Resident Evil 3 will also be coming to the Switch thanks to the cloud later this year.

The most exciting announcement for our team was at the end of the event when Breath of the Wild 2 had its official name and release date announced. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will come out on May 13, 2023. The game also got a new trailer that looks as good as people hoped for.
