There are really two announcements here. The first is about HOOK, a new indie label from publisher Digital Bros that’s focused on releasing a unique selection of indie games. Secondly, HOOK has also announced their first game. EDENGATE: The Edge of Life is an internally developed dark narrative adventure that’s coming to consoles and PC later this year.

Follow a young and promising biologist named Mia after she wakes up in an abandoned hospital with no memory of how she got there. Finding no other traces of life, Mia tries to piece together the events that led her to the hospital. Find out what happened to Mia and the once vibrant city outside with a mix of exploration, puzzle-solving, and decision-making.

The game was conceived during the pandemic and aims to present the fear, isolation, and uncertainty that was so familiar to everyone over the last two years through an emotional narrative and a strong gameplay experience. EDENGATE is written by award-winning writer Matthew Seiji Burns, who was Writer and Director of the critically acclaimed visual novel Eliza, and the game’s music is composed by Laryssa Okada of Manifold Gaden.

EDENGATE: The Edge of Life is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam in October 25. The game will cost $6.99 USD on release and players can Wishlist the game now on Steam. What do you think of the studio’s upcoming debut? Let us know down in the comments.
