Indie Game Subscription Platform Launches Today on PC

There’s a new gaming subscription platform on the market that’s looking to serve the indie game sector at an affordable price. The aptly named Indie Pass from publisher and game management platform indie.io offers a genre-diverse collection of games developed by solo developers and small teams from around the world.

As of now, Indie Pass is the world’s only subscription platform designed exclusively for indie games. The goal is two-fold: help smaller games get discovered and help players find new hidden gems. Both of which aren’t that viable on big subscription platforms like Xbox Game Pass, where the bigger releases tend to overshadow the indie titles.

On Indie Pass, users can subscribe to the monthly plan for $6.99 per month or save 33% with the annual plan for $55.92 per year. The platform is launching with over 70 titles across various genres including RPG, horror, cozy, and more, with the promise of new titles being added regularly.

For developers and publishers, Indie Pass has a non-exclusive participation model with revenue distributed based on player time spent in each game. In other words, you’re not locked into the platform. If you are a developer or publisher looking to join, you can register here.

For everyone else, Indie Pass is available now. You can click here to check out the game catalog for yourself, but here are a few of our recommendations. Fans of cozy farming sims should check out Echoes of the Plum Grove from Unwound Games. If horror is more your taste, take a peek at SPC: Fragmented Minds from HST Studios. And if you’re on the market for a strategy RPG, look no further than Dream Tactics from Spectra Entertainment.

All these games are published by indie.io and already have positive user ratings on Steam. If any of the games caught your eye, you can play them on Indie Pass with a one month subcription for less than the price of any one game individually. Though it should be noted that, being a subscription service, you don’t own any of the games and access to the catalog ends at the end of the billing period.
