In 2007, Midway Studios Chicago and Tiger Hill Entertainment released Stranglehold, an action-adventure game and a sequel to John Woo’s 1992 Hong Kong action flick, Hard Boiled. The game takes place after the events of the movie and aims to make players feel like they are the star of their own gun-fu film.
The six-hour campaign of Stranglehold follows Inspector Tequila, played by Chow Yun-fat, as he shoots his way through a gang war without reloading his akimbo pistols. This is the full chapter list for the game, with a mild spoiler alert because their names reveal the locations Tequila will visit on his adventure:
- Chapter 1: Hong Kong Marketplace
- Chapter 2: Tai O
- Chapter 3: The Mega Restaurant
- Chapter 4: Zakarov’s Penthouse
- Chapter 5: Chicago History Museum
- Chapter 6: Slums of Kowloon
- Chapter 7: Wong’s Estate
